Foxy in Stockholm
2008

Foxy in  Stockholm. In Kungsträdgården. (The King's garden)
There should be bus strike in July. And that's why the trip was made by trains, boats and planes. Me on the airport. This plane should take us to Stockholm.
Ove walking to the plane. This year we had a Fly Nordic plane.
We took the train from the airport Arlanda to Stockholm City. This was a wonderful train.

First we made a sea cruse with the boat Cinderella. After this we lived in Stockholm some days. Here Ove is coming from the boat.

Separate side of the boat trip here:

Foxy to Cinderella part 2
We could take the underground train to the hotel. The train goes only under the ground in the central parts of town.
Foxy by the underground train.
There were wild hare (Lepus timidus) in the garden by the hotel. I think they came from the park that was near the hotel. The staff at the hotel never had seen hare in the garden. I was lucky I could see them.
We had dinner in a Thailand restaurant. This is a chicken dish with rice.
This is the boat that took us to the open air museum Skansen.
We could take a boat to the open air museum Skansen when the bus did not go.

God bless the trains, boats and planes!!

There is a lot to see at Skansen. Me standing in front of the Seglora church at Skansen.

2008-07-04. This evening we heard on the local Stockholm radio that the bus strike should be over the next day. We did celebrate this in a little restaurant and we clinked our glasses for this happy news.
The next day we could take the bus to the Kaknäs tower. One of my favourite places.
The tower is in outskirts of town and there are wonderful woods and fields around it. I felt so happy in the woods and here I could hear the blackbird singing.
Ove in the woods by Kaknäs tower.
This is how the tower looks. The Kaknäs tower is a major hub of Swedish television, radio and satellite broadcasts. The height is 155 meters. The tower has a indoor and outdoor observation decks and a restaurant.

When we were there, the fire alarm started sounding and we all (staff and tourists) had to go out to the outdoor deck. It was windy and cold there. But I had a good Fjällräven jacket and I had my hood :)
The fire brigade was coming to the tower. It was a little scary to be up almost 155 metres in the tower. But the staff said that this happened sometimes and seemed to be false alarm.
Here you can see how the outdoor deck looks. It's like a cage. That is more safe. I took this picture from the ground with a telephoto lens.
Fortunately there was no fire. And we could go in again. Ove and I went to the restaurant in the tower and had a wonderful lunch with a gorgeous view over the landscape and town.
Me in the restaurant.
We had a delicious hamburger.
Down on the ground again. I was walking on the path by the fields.
There were horses in the fields.
Me walking in the fields.
Wonderful oxeye daisies in the fields.
Aw! I lost weight :-D.
This is a mirror hall in the technical museum.
Me walking in space! In the technical museum.
In this mirror room I could see myself in many copies.
Ove in the metro.
In this metro station there were beautiful paintings on the ceiling.
Kungsträdgården. (The King garden) this garden is a popular meeting place. They have art and market and music. But there are not activities all the time. There was no activity when we visited the garden in 2008.
Me in the S:t Jacobs church. That church is beside Kungsträdgården.
The Royal Palace.
I liked it to be in the King's Garden.
Sprinkling swans in the fountain.
Me and the swans.
There was a  statue figure of Karl XIII, surrounded of 4 lions in the garden. I liked the lions very much.
A closer picture of a lion.

He, he this dog was drinking water in the fountain. :-)
The fountain at Sergels Torg.
Ha, ha, ha! Ove is camouflaged in his jacket by going on these black and white concrete pavement tiles. :-D
This lion is made of concrete is for stopping cars driving in the street. This is only a walking and shopping street.
A dove that should fly away soon.
We also did flew away. But by plane. We had a gorgeous view over the landscape from the plane.
The plane was going higher.
Soon the clouds were under the plane.
I felt so near God in the plane.
And Gods light was shining on me.
It was gorgeous to see this in real.
Arrival! I felt very happy to be home again. :-)
