Rodluvan in the snow
Part 62
Snow Sculptures
2006-02-04

I went to town to see the snow sculptures. I met this white elephant and he won the prize! I said. “Hurray I did vote on you”. Congratulations!"

It was cold, the temperature was -12C = 10,40F. I had to hide myself in my big hood. And I had a lot of warm clothes under my read jacket. It was nice to go in into the warm bus. I came to town in this brand-new shiny bus.

The sculpture were this year about a snow circus.
Sculpture #1 was called: “De gycklande tu” = The joking two.

Sculpture #2 was called: “Snödans” = Snow dance.

Sculpture #3 was called: “After work”. After finishing of the working week the clown and the rope walker are taking a bath in the tub.

Sculpture #4 was called: “Balanserade björn” = The balancing bear.

Sculpture #5 was called: “Koloni”  = colony. There is a colony of penguins.

Sculpture #6 was called: HEPP.

Sculpture #7 was called: “The elephant trick”

#7, the elephant won the prize!

Sculpture #8 was called: ”Jag kan flyga. Jag är inte rädd”. = I can fly and I’m not afraid. It was a sculpture with penguins.

Here were two penguins who fell in love.

And they became a happy family :-)

On the market place there was a little rock band playing 50th Rock ‘n Roll. In the middle of the picture you see a heater  with battle gas (gasol). And the guitar players had gloves. But the top of the fingers at the gloves were cut so they could play the guitar. And the guys were often warming their hands with the gasol heater.

The music was wonderful. And the guys said: “Now we will play a very fast song so we all will be warm.” And then they played a real wild Rock ‘n Roll song! Wheeeeeee! :-)

It was snowing and the snowflakes were flying up and down in the wind. And I felt like she was flying too! I was so happy so I felt I was in heaven. The people were applauding for the band. But all had gloves on for the cold. And then the applause sounded muffled. But the band was happy for our response.

It was going to be dark and I took the bus home. I saw the polar bear from the bus, still standing on the school yard. This time there were children playing there and some of the children got a ride on the back of the polar bear. It looked cute.

When I came home the temperature went down to -16C
= 3, 20F But the polar did not care of the cold. He was made for cold weather :-)
