Rodluvan in the snow
Part 55
Looking at the stars
2007

2007-01-24. This evening I felt I was very near God, the creator of heaven and earth. I was looking at the sky.

This day started with a gorgeous sunset. The temperature was -20°Celsius and the sky was clear.
In the evening the moon was shining and looked like this. But this picture was taken for some years ago.
Ove and I went to an observatory. The observatory was named Umevatorium. Somebody guided us and told us about it. Here you can see two  telescopes.
This telescope was directed to the hospital. I looked in it.
The hospital lies on a hill and you can on this picture see the hospital (inside the white ring). It is far from this place. When you looked in the  telescope, you could see some windows of the hospital, very clear.

We went in into a planetarium. The device can show the stars and the planets in the dome-shaped ceiling.

Another telescope.

We went up on the rood and after it up on an outside staircase to the  dome. There was a big telescope. It was very cold there and we had to put on warm clothes. The blurry air around the telescope is the warm air we were breathing out.

Here Ove is looking in the telescope. He had a sheepskin cap and his very warm coat . A red coat with a hood. Now he also was a Rödluvan. (red Riding Hood)

The view from the roof was nice. And there were many stars in the sky. We looked in the telescope at the moon and at Saturn.

When we came down we had hot coffee or hot tea. And we looked at some things. This is a meteorite.

Me holding a meteorite.

A doll spaceman. But this doll was a woman :-)

It was a wonderful and an exciting evening. And when I walked home from the garage I was looking at the sky and enjoying the stars. Space is fascinating.
2007-02-08. I heard and saw Christer Fuglesang in the great hall at the university. He was telling about his space flight.
Here a near picture of Christer Fuglesang taken with the telephoto lens. It was a great experience for me to see him.
