This day was a day to remember. I took a sleigh ride with a reindeer. And this was a very special reindeer. It was the reindeer Studs, a very good racing reindeer who took me on a sleigh ride.

I had not recovered yet after my surgical operation. That's why I took the bus to work. I missed my friends in the woods who I met when she walked to work. Now she was standing there alone with the bus stop. It happened that a man also was waiting for the bus but he did not even say Hello back when I said hello to him. It was good to be alone and not meet this sullen person today.

I heard a bird saying "Kra, kra!". I looked and saw there was a crow sitting on the roof of a house with the bus stop and he said: "Hello do you recognise me. You fed me last autumn, you should go out and have some fun. Why not go out and eat. I have a friend who is a reindeer. He owns a little restaurant. You can take the bus to it.

The reindeer was standing outside the restaurant when I came. He said "Hello, I have some friends who are reindeer who lives in Norrbotten. They are in town now and will go to the pond at the campus. You should go an meet them". Then they will take you on a sleigh ride. I promised to meet the reindeer at the campus.

I closed the door at work. The squirrel was sitting and eating of the food the staff at work had taken out. "I said: Hello Kurre" Kurre said, "Where will you go"? I answered: "I will go to the pond and meet some reindeer".

The squirrel started laughing, "He, he, reindeer in the pond, there are ducks in the pond and not reindeer. Or are the reindeer swimming there too?" I said: "Yes", there are reindeer but not in the water, the are on the ice, the pond is frozen.

I went to the pond. There was snow on the ice. There were two reindeer tied on the flag pole. One was named Jätte (giant) because he was so big and strong. The other reindeer was named Aslak that means : "A tough old boy". But these reindeer should not pull the sledge. The reindeer Emil and Studs should pull the sledge.

It was the Sami Ola Rokka who owned the reindeer. He was a good reindeer keeper and knew a lot about reindeer. Ola told a lot about reindeer caring to me and the other tourists. I felt proud to be on a picture with a Ola. Note: The Sami gave me permission to be on my site in public.

"Do you want to make a sleigh ride with me", Studs asked. Of course I wanted to take a sleigh ride with Studs. I took place on the sledge and got a wonderful ride on the big pond. Studs was a strong reindeer.

The reindeer Emil wanted to follow with me too and it was OK that he could go behind the sledge. It felt real strange but also funny to be on the pond. Here I'm sitting on the sledge.

Later Studs showed how fast he could run, it looked like he was flying over the snow.

Hej here I come!	No, no, stop Studs! do you want to run over me?!"

But Studs did not run over me, he slowed down in time. Later he had a little talk with me. And I told about my friends the squirrel, the crow, and the small birds in the woods. And that I had been sick and in the hospital and had not so much energy now. Studs was listening to everything I told him.

After it I told about a black Labrador named Nilla. And that I used to meet this dog in the woods. Then Studs went laughing and said: said: "Rödluvan and the wolf in the woods." :-)

The reindeer Jätte heard what Studs said about a wolf. And he did not like wolves at all. But I said: "The wolves I know are friendly and they do not hurt reindeer and do not eat Rödluvan".

The reindeer Studs told about his friends in the mountains. I said. "When I was young I hiked in the mountains and met reindeer. But I walked very careful so I should not scare them. Studs said: "That was kind of you".

I met the Sami who did sorting out the reindeer in the autumn. Then I took some pictures. This was both nice and interesting.

Studs said:: "So sad that I soon must go back to Norrbotten. Otherwise I should have given you a ride to work every day and then you did not need to take the bus. And I should have carried home all the food you have to buy. Here I'm on the sledge with the reindeer Studs. The reindeer Emil is following behind the sledge.

Studs said: "But I can give you an extra ride now, while I'm still are here. And then I had a sleigh ride with Studs in winter wonderland through the gorgeous landscape.

The reindeer went longer in into the woods with me on the sledge. The snow was glistening in the sunlight and the woods were so beautiful. And King Bore who is the king of winter whispered: "Beware of me I make everything into snow and ice". Studs answered: " I'm not afraid for the cold I have a thick coat". And I said: "My coat is thick too and I have a big hood and thick mittens."

After it the reindeer Studs was riding over the white area. Studs said: "Now I will go back to the pond with you. Soon I will go back to Norrbotten".

When Studs came back to the campus with me, he got food. He got lichen. But Studs did not like the needles that hade fastened in the lichen. He took away them.

Later Studs was standing and relaxing and he looked very beautiful in the direct light of the setting sun.

Here Studs and Emil were running with another person with a red hood on the sledge.

Now it was time for Ola and his reindeer to go home. Ola took Studs back to the van.

Ola told some things about the reindeer for the children: "Now I will say to the reindeer: "Varsågod" (Here you are) and then they will jump in into the van" The children looked very interested how the reindeer jumped in into the van.

Now I had to go home too. I said goodbye to Studs. Studs looked very kind and said: "Take care of yourself, and be well soon after your surgery. Soon the spring will come and then you will enjoy the flowers and the sun. And walk again in the wonder land of spring and see all the flowers".

I was very happy and I got back the colour in my face after the sleigh ride. I told about the reindeer for my neighbours and I said. This was one of the happiest days in my life".
