Part 3. The ducks in the pond by the hospital
2007-11-28.
 
A happy Rödluvan (me) by the pond.
Some ducks were in the creek and came on land when they heard me rustle with the bread bag.
They were hungry.
Suddenly a bold duck was biting in my jeans.
I gave him a bit of bread.
There were many ducks in the water. Here is alway open water in winter because streaming water is running from a creek.
There came more ducks when I fed them.
Hungry, hungry, hungry!
Suddenly the male duck was biting in my jeans again. And was shaking the jeans legs. Then I started laughing. That duck was so funny.
Here you can see the pond. Back there is ice. In front is the open water and it is there the ducks can live.

I put some bits of bread on the railing of the bridge. Then the ducks took it.
Now the "Jeans Biting Duck" was there again. Ha, ha, ha :-)

A lonely female came to me for bread.
Here you can see the water coming donw to the lower creek. The water runs under the ice.
From the second bridge you can see the first bridge and the upper creek in the background. That creek goes under the hospital and comes out in the pond.

When I had no bread left, the ducks were flying back into the pond.

This is a peaceful place. But I had to go back to work.
The snow was coloured in gold in the low sunlight.

When I came to work there was a squirrel in the woods.

2007-11-29

I went to the pond again. But now it was cloudy and rather dusk outside. That's why these pictures can be a little dark. But they are funny :-)
A lonely male saw me.
He got some bread.
After  the whole gang was coming. I was surrounded of ducks again.
Now there was a little snow on the ice in the pond.
Look! The trousers bitin duck is there again. :-)
One more time! :-)

2 sleeping ducks.
Duck on the railing of the bridge. This duck has been ringed. It is a wild duck, but ornithologists had captured it, put on the ring and released it again.

Ooops! The duck was happened bite in my finger. :-) I felt the bite but it did not hurt.
More ducks are coming.
Now that duck is biting in my trousers again
The squirrel in the woods by work was there again. There are six squirrels who come to the food bag. Sometimes you can see all of them. but now there was only one squirrel
I was standing in the woods by work. It started to snowing. But I kept warm in my hood. I felt happy I med my small friends, the ducks and squirrels.

I went to the pond again. She took some more pictures of the ducks on the railing of the bridge.
This is "the trousers biting duck". He was ring on his leg. And he is not so afraid as the others.
He, he, he he is so funny :)

2007-12-14

I went to the pond again. And had some more fun with the ducks.
Here he goes again :-)
The trousers biting duck is still hungry and biting one more time. He know that this is working for getting food LOL :-)
A lot of ducks in the sunset. It was only lunch time but the sun was already going down.
There came a woman who also loved ducks. Then I gave her bread so she also could feed the ducks.

The food is coming and all will try to get it.
The duck tried to bite in my jeans again.

When I started feeding there was a female who blocked the way for the others.
But later the male got bread too.
At Christmas I got two cute ducks who moved  from the USA to Sweden. And now they are living with me. LOL :-)
