Rödluvan in the snow
Part 24

Ducks and white frost in the park
2009

2009-02-13. I felt so cheerful. There was happiness and peace on my face.
2009-02-13. God showed me His light and took me to a magical winter land.
2009-02-13. The winter land was the park and the pond by the hospital. But this day it was a winter paradise.
2009-02-13. When I reached the park I saw the sparkles on the snow and the gorgeous white frost on the trees.
2009-02-13. I was feeding the ducks again. But here they were a little watchful, because there was a little dog "wolf" in the park. But the dog did not harm the ducks.
2009-02-13. Here the ducks had not seen me yet.
2009-02-13. Several ducks were sitting on the ice.
2009-02-13. The creek there the water always is open.
2009-02-13. The ducks were around me.
2009-02-13. I could not describe the beauty I saw. I was stunned!
2009-02-13. The ducks still were around me. The males looked beautiful.
2009-02-13. The tracks on the ice of the pond are duck tracks. The water is streaming under the ice and down under the second bridge.
2009-02-13. The ducks got food.
2009-02-13. Aw!
2009-02-13. It was cold. That's why the duck were sitting and they had their legs under the feathers.
2009-02-13. Aw again!
2009-02-13. I walked to the white frost covered trees. Then the ducks followed me :-)
2009-02-13. So gorgeous. I whispered. "Am I dreaming?"
2009-02-13. It was cold and the ducks had ice pearls on their feathers.
2009-02-13. The ducks wanted rather be in the water. The temperature in the water is about +4C but on land it was -15C
I need to use a heart that can be warm for warming hands. It was wonderful to have that heart in the cold.
2009-02-13. Another gorgeous view.
2009-02-13. Me feeding the female bridge duck.
2009-02-13. It looks like in a fairy tale.
2009-02-13. The bridge duck was hungry.
2009-02-13. Walking in a winter wonderland.
2009-02-13. Now there were 2 females on the bridge railing.
2009-02-13. Here you can see the second bridge. But they did not plow it and it was difficult to pass over that bridge.
2009-02-13. The female bro duck again.
2009-02-13. The male also came. I met this male in summer. He is  saying: "Quack-quack" all the time and then I called him for "Quack-quack".  He only was silent when he had bread in his beak. :-)
2009-02-13. The female and Quack-quack.
2009-02-13. Two females.
2009-02-13. The female named "Bridge duck" and another female.
2009-02-13. The bridge duck was eager to get the bread, but then she felt down from the railing and had to fly.
2009-02-13. Quack-quack also was falling down from the railing and was flying down.
2009-02-13. Now the female was back on the railing.
2009-02-13. And Quack-quack was back too.
2009-02-13. Such a big beak :-D
2009-02-13. Quack-quack and the bridge duck were talking to each other.
2009-02-13. Maybe they were talking about the summer and having ducklings :-)
2009-02-13. Are not they sweet? Sure Quack-quack want to have ducklings with her :-)
2009-02-13. But it still was to early in winter for love. The female got more food.
2009-02-13. Having ducklings, giggle :)
2009-02-13. There was a lot of snow and the tractors that plowed had made piles (mountains) of snow.
2009-02-13. A female flying down.
2009-02-13. Here you can see the second bridge.
2009-02-13. A man came to the other side of the pond. He had food and then: "Flap, flap, flap", they were flying to him.
2009-02-13. This was so peaceful.
2009-02-13. Ducks climbing up the snow hill.
2009-02-13. The creek at the other side of the pond, it goes through a pipe and later it will reach the river.
2009-02-13. Many people can't understand how they can survive here. But they get food from people and can sleep in the creek  in the tunnel under the hospital.
2009-02-13. The white frost was like silver in the sunlight.
2009-02-13. Most of the pond was frozen.
2009-02-13. Here you can see the second bridge and how people made a little path when they walked there.
2009-02-13. A women came with bread and then all the ducks were on land again.
2009-02-13. Eating
2009-02-13.  And eating.
2009-02-13. Much snow.
2009-02-13. The brown and white duck again. This is a male. But there is also a female of the same kind.
2009-02-13. The other side of the second bridge. The water is running out there under the ice.
2009-02-13. Here you can see how this looks. The water comes out in the middle.
2009-02-13. I had to go.  But I gave the bridge duck a piece of bread before I left. She need to eat if she later will have ducklings with Quack-quack :-)
