Part 15. Winter at work

Me in the snow and the cold in the woods by work.

This is the entrance lane to the house there I'm working. It's on a hill.

I can see the woods from my office.

It's gorgeous to see the snow on the trees.

The dark grey squirrel was eating the seed from the bag.

Three squirrels. Two on the different bags and one on the ground. I put an X with the squirrel at the right because it's rather invisible. We have 4 squirrels in the woods by work but the 4th one is afraid for the 3 others and will to come when the others have gone.

The hotel cross the street there I often use to eat lunch there. You can see the backside of the hotel cross the street.

A tractor was plowing away the snow in from a little path beside the woods. I took the picture through the window of my office.

Night picture of the wood while snowing. I took this in January. Then the time was 15.00. It's dark early in winter.

Here is was snowing very fine snowflakes. The flakes were loooking like silver and gold in the sunlight.

A shiny ice sculpture at Campus  It’s standing in the sunlight. The artists were working on this sculpture in -23°C !
A bit of ice that the artist cut off the ice block while making the sculpture. The dark part are the fingers of my gloves.

This sculpture was shiny too. But it was not standing in the sunlight.

This is the oak at campus. I told about this tree before. A bit of the trunk is under the snow.
This is the pond at campus. But the pond is frozen and there is snow on the ice. Now it looks like a field covered with snow.

In December 2006 there was only ice on the pond and someone was skating on the pond.
Deep snow. In the background you can see a lot of white "smoke". This is steam from the big thermal power station. (district heating)
These white spots on the picture are sparkles. Silver spots on the snow. It was gorgeous to see these sparkles.

Down below I will show some older pictures.
This picture is taken winter 2003. Then there was a lot of snow on the roof of the house at work. This is very dangerous. If the snow comes down, you can be dead! The workers came and took it sway.
This picture is taken December 2002. I saw this bird in a tree by work. The bird is a pine grosbeak. (Pinicola enucleator) (Tallbit). They eat the seed from the rowan berries.
This picture taken 2002. We got a lot of snow that year. And when I  came to work in the "blue hour", I saw 2 snowmen sitting on the bench beside the backdoor of  the house.
