2007-08-28. It was raining and raining, it never seemed to stop raining. I kept dry in my rain jacket. There was flooding at some places in town.
The rain started the day before. The sky was black and the rain was pouring down. And it was real POURING.
The next day the pond at Campus was flooded. The spots near the little path at the right are ducks.
Of course it is difficult to know how much the pond was flooding if you never have been there. That's why I did draw a red line in the same picture, to show where the edge of the water normally is.
Here you normally can walk and can sit on the bench. The water is behind the high plants. But all this was flooded today.
The bushes in the water.
A closer view. The bushes are now in the water. The ducks are swimming on the water that flooded over the grass.
The ducks are swimming over the flooded path.
Here I use to walk every day but the rest of the path is under the water.
Comparison. Here you can see how the path looks and the edge of the water.
This is a little bridge that was flooded.  The water use to go under the concrete wall and then in a culvert under the ground. Later the water comes out in the pond at the hospital.
Comparison. Here you can see how the bridge looks. You can see the concrete wall at the right. I use to feed the ducks in the grass by the trees.
The path by the pond and the bench taken from the other side. All this was flooded today. But I could reach this path with the camera when it was flooded.
The sculpture is almost in the water.
The path is going under the water.
Comparison. Normally it looks like this.
They took away a part of the bridge and checked out if there was a stop in the outlet. Probably it was, because later they got the water running through the outlet.
The ducks had real fun :)
The water near the sculpture.
Here the path taken from the other side. The water was flooding over the path and the bridge. The men had to watch it, so no people should go there.
Comparison. Normally the path and the bridge looks like this.
This is a bird cherry that now almost is in the middle of the water.
Comparison. Here you can see the bird cherry again ständing
Another tree in the water. And the ducks are swimming on land :)
Trees in the water.
Comparison.  Normally it looks like this.
The creek was flooding too and the water came near the house.
The lamp post was in the middle of the water.
I sometimes have to walk here. But now I had to.... SWIM ! :)
Comparison.  This is what the path looks like.
I got the permission to put in this picture. Taken through the window of a skywalk. Earlier this morning the water was near the house on the tiles. Fortunately the water did not reach the house.
The creek is flooding.
Comparison. Normally the creek is like this.
The flooding creek taken from the bigger bridge by the library.
Comparison. The creek as it normally looks.
Flooding by the library bridge. The tree near the bridge is in the water.
More trees near the library bridge in the water.
Comparison. The same tree as it looks normally.
This picture taken in spring. A little island. That island is a paradise for the ducklings. The island was now flooded. On this picture you can see a little bit of the island in the background.
I use to walk in the grass near the trees by the edge of the water. Now the place is flooded.
Same picture taken from another place.
Grass under the water. And it continued raining.
Flooding near the oak. The oak is standing high and was safe.
Comparison. Normally it looks like this.
Raindrops on the aronia bushes. They were not so near the pond and not flooded.
And the ducks still had fun :)
The next day everything was back to normal but everything was wet and the sun had to dry everything.
Special thanks to Bertil Born and Lena Timner who lend me their pictures.
