Foxy and Midsummer Day
 2008

This picture of me, Rain Rödluvan is taken by a co-worker in the woods by work. A happy Rödluvan in the rain :-)

Now I will tell about Midsummer 2008

The celebrating began for us the night before. I made a "landgång". Landgång means gangway but it also means long open sandwich.
Midsummer Eve in the morning. The lilac and Swedish white beam is still in bloom.
A wonderful lilac on the yard.
Close-up picture of the lilac.
This is another kind of lilac.
Lily of the valley in the woods with rain pearls. It was rather dark deeper in the woods. I needed to use the flash.
The renovated pond at Gammlia open air museum. Not real ready yet. The tame ducks were not there yet. But some male mallards moved in. But I had no bread with me!
The mallards were following me in the water.
They were sprinkling the grass.
I took this picture myself by putting out her arms and holding the camera in front of my face. I kept warm and dry.
The played the music under the gate of the storehouse. Then they kept dry.
Description about the store house.
Hooded people in the rain put flowers on the may pole.
The may pole still lying. I also put some flowers in it.

This horse is new. He was neighing loudly because he wanted to meet his black horse friend.
This horse is new at the open air museum. He will soon draw the carriage. It is a real big horse.
Portrait of the horse.
Both horses. The brown horse will soon draw the wagon.
The black horse.
Now the black horse may rest in the stable.
A little black lamb.
Sheep and lamb.
They are so cute.
More cuteness.
This little lamb was sick and needed caring.
Dwarf Cornel. (Cornus suecica) in the woods.
A close-up picture of Dwarf Cornel.
After the Midsummer celebration we had midsummer food, pickled herring and boiled new potatoes.
I heard this telling. In Sweden they say that if an unmarried woman shall put 7 different kind of flowers under the pillow then she will get the man she want.

When we came home we had coffee and strawberries with vanilla ice cream. In Sweden the strawberries are darker red and a little sweeter. I heard on the radio that the strawberries are sweeter and darker because ot the light nights in summer.
Midsummer is the lilac time in the north of Sweden.
Me a garden with lilacs. It's wonderful to be out and enjoy nature, animals and flowers.
