Rödluvan and Midsummer Eve Foxy and Midsummer Day 2008 |
This picture of me, Rain Rödluvan is taken by a co-worker in the woods by work. A happy Rödluvan in the rain :-) Now I will tell about Midsummer 2008 |

The celebrating began for us the night before. I made a "landgång". Landgång means gangway but it also means long open sandwich.

After the Midsummer celebration we had midsummer food, pickled herring and boiled new potatoes.
I heard this telling. In Sweden they say that if an unmarried woman shall put 7 different kind of flowers under the pillow then she will get the man she want.

When we came home we had coffee and strawberries with vanilla ice cream. In Sweden the strawberries are darker red and a little sweeter. I heard on the radio that the strawberries are sweeter and darker because ot the light nights in summer.
Midsummer is the lilac time in the north of Sweden.
Me a garden with lilacs. It's wonderful to be out and enjoy nature, animals and flowers.
