Foxy's trip to Göteborg

Part 17. The train home A

I liked to be in paradise in Göteborg. But I was longing home now and tired of running around. But on Friday evening the train should go to Umeå. We went to the railroad station in Göteborg.
Here Ove is sitting in the lobby of the hotel. From this room I also wrote my e-mail and journal postings in the computer. We checked out and walked to the tram. Our suitcases have small wheels so vi could roll them.
Here Ove is standing with the suitcases at the tram stop named Svingeln. First there came a tram that did not go to the railway station. Then the doors of that tram did not lock and the tram could not start. This should block the passage for our tram that should come  later. I went so nervous. But the tram driver went out of the tram did something and got it working. I felt relieved!
When we came to the station I was so tired of the heath and the stress to come to the station. I almost fell asleep on the bench.
I was so glad to go on the train. Even this time it was a long train and we had to walk a while to come to our railroad car.
This is our car. Me standing by the railroad car
This engine should take me home. We had our railroad car  behind the engine.
To my surprise we now got the comfortable car with the shower. But it was so hot. There was no air condition in this wagon. But there should be ventilation when the train should ride.
I was sitting and writing my journal. It was a wonderful sofa. This sofa could be changed to a bed.
This is the bathroom in the compartment. But then we found out that the toilet not was working. It did not flush. And the shower and the tap only had HOT water!! We could not use this bathroom. And no toilet was working in the whole compartment. We all had to walk to another railroad car to use the toilet.

The head of the train tried to get it working but she could not do anything. A tech needed to look at this. The ventilation was not working neither. We had the upper window open and then you heard a real noise from the train. We suffered of the heath. The train head came with more boxes of drinking water to us. But these were not cold.

Now we had paid for something that was worse as a cheaper compartment.

I took this pictures and some other pictures through the glass window of the train. We passed the station in Herrljunga. Once I was here by train and visited a friend. I lived in her house in a week. We had a wonderful time.
It was nice to look out from the window.
A station there the train did not stop
.
We came to Orebro.
The Örebro sign on the station
The station in Örebro.
The station in Örebro.
We could see the backside of the engine through the window or our railroad car. We had the car after the engine and could hear the whistle blow.
It was relaxing to see the landscape. The white spots are big plastic bags. There is ensilage (hay)is in these bags.

The blurry red near the rails are the flowers "Fire weed" that we in Sweden call "Rallarros" (railroad worker roses). Because they like to grow on the railway embankment.
A company.
Sometimes the train was riding in a shower and there were dramatic clouds. It was gorgeous to see the sun and the sunbeams through the clouds.
I see the light!
One more gorgeous picture with the light though the clouds.
The sun was going down and I saw a gorgeous sunset from the train.
I felt stunned when I saw this.

Ove in the restaurant car. We went to the restaurant car and had a beer and sandwiches. Here it was cooler as in our own railroad car. The best of all was that the beer was COLD we felt so HOT because the bad hot car we got. And the packages with drinking water in the train were lukewarm.

I already showed the restaurant car on the outside. It's an old car that once went in Europe. The interior is made in old Swedish stile with pictures of Swedish royalty people on the walls.

The curtains were in the Swedish colours blue and yellow and the chairs too. It was cosy with the lamps on the tables.
We came to Stockholm. Then the time was 22.00.
It was wonderful to look out over the water.
Stockholm.
The town hall in Stockholm.
Boats in Stockholm.
The Central station in Stockholm.
The long train stopped at the station in Stockholm.
The train should stay a while in Stockholm. Ove got off the train.
Me on the station in Stockholm.
The train moved on. I was darker now. We went to bed and still had the window open and still heard the noise. But I slept well I was so tired.

And the train was rushing through the night. Sometimes I awoke and heard the lonely whistle of the engine. But this was fun to hear. It was exciting to be on the train.  To hear all the sounds and to smell the special smell of the engine and the humid air. I slept well.

A new day on the train. I saw a gorgeous river. We were in the north of Sweden now.
A road.
A bridge.
Landscape.
A freight train.
There are endless forests in the north of Sweden.

This engine took me home again!
