Part 5.  2006, 2007
Thrush, ducklings
 
2007-05-27. Me with the birch on the yard. Holding in the small leaves. Again I was thinking about these words I read in a book:
If you are sad, you can go to the birch. Tell all your troubles to it. Then the birch will take over your sorrow and carry them for you.
I told her sorrow to the birch.
And the birch took over my sorrow.
2006-05-10.  With My work there was a thrush standing in the grass.

Now there will come some pictures of the thrush and their nest. This year the thrush did not build a nest on the house where I was working. But I will  show the pictures of 2006 and 2005.
This picture is taken  2005-05-19. Then there were 3 young birds. They were rather big and after a few days they flied from the nest.
2006-05-19. A colleague came and said: The thrush has egg even this year on the French balcony. She opened the window carefully.
2006-05-19. There were 5 egg in the nest. The bird was not there and we did not open the window  too long time so she could come back to the egg.
2006-05-19. We looked into the wood and saw another thrush nest in a tree. The bird was sitting in it.
2006-05-29. The thrush mamma was on the nest. I felt that something exiting happened and went up to the 3rd floor to have a look.
2006-05-29. The thrush babies were born. How exciting! The thrush mother was gone for a while. I can't see if all 5 egg were hatched. It looks like there are only four birds. But my co-workers and I are not sure yet.
2006-05-29. I found another thrush nest on the house I was working. This thrush was real smart to build it behind the drainpipe.
2006-05-29.  This picture is taken through the window. It was impossible to get a good picture. You can't open this window. You can see the beak of the little bird. There were tree of them and these were bigger as the birds in the nest on the other side of the house.
2006-05-29.  My wax plant in the window was in bloom.
2007-05-28. The widgeon male and female in the grass.

2007-05-28. Now it was time to go back to the island. The ducklings are swimming in a line, it looks real funny.
2007-05-28. Are not they cute?
2006-05-28. That day was on a Sunday. Sometimes the sun was shining but sometimes the rain was pouring down! Two neighbours were just out and planting some bushes. The new bushes got a LOT of water :-)
2006-05-28. The rain stopped and I went out on the yard and felt the wonderful smell of the leaves. And the grass was so soft. The rain was good for the grass and the trees.  Everything went real GREEN.
2007-05-29. The ducklings near the island.

2007-05-30. When the duck mother saw me standing by the pond, she came swimming to me with her ducklings.
2007-05-30. A duck male came to near and the duck mother went aggravated and attacked him.
2007-05-30.  Another attack.
2007-05-30. A real fight in the water.
2007-05-30. The male gave up and went away.
2007-05-30.  Peace in the pond again. The male is still near but she tolerated him at this distance.

2007-05-31. I found chickweed wintergreen in the wood. (Trientalis europaea L) But this picture is taken 2003-06-11

2007-05-31. There was a party for children in the park. Then they had 2 big horses. The children got a horseback ride. I heard one of the horses neighing. I dare not to sit on the back of a horse. But I like to ride in the wagon with a horse.

I have no picture of the 2 horses but I found an old picture taken 2005-06-26. Me is sitting in the carriage. The horse Sony was pulling the carriage.
2006-05-31. I found a bird cherry that already was in bloom. It was standing near the water. I use to call the bird cherry for the Queen of Spring.
2006-05-31. I walked down to the bird cherry. The smell of the flowers was wonderful. And I whispered: "Welcome back Queen of spring".

In May 2007 there were no bird cherries in bloom yet.
2006-05-31. There were some ducks on the pond. A male with his female. Another male that not had a female tried to take the female from the duck. Later both male attack each other and quarrel. And they collided in the air!
2006-05-31. Peace again. The male got his  female back.
2006-05-31. Later the duck couple was sleeping in the grass.
