| The Voice of Violence[1999-04-06]The only solution left was brute force. He was quite convinced of this. In fact, brute force almost always seemed to be the ideal solution to most of his problems, and it almost always seemed to solve them. Since the age of eleven, he'd be following his father's footsteps; strike first, strike hard, run if the odds are bad, and never ever trust anyone. He'd always admired his father. He seemed to know exactly how to handle every situation. He was the one who taught him the way of violence. The way of life as he knew it. Could there possibly be any better solution to an argument than giving the other part a good round of thrashing? He certainly didn't think so. Or at least, he had thought so until he met that new boy, John. He didn't look very special, but there was something about him that made him stand out from the rest. And he couldn't for his life hit John even if he disagreed with what he said. Strange though it was, he really just couldn't. It was just like if he'd lost the struggle before it even had begun. |
