Hello. This generic file to give you an idea of what format I want answers to me returned. Most of the stuff in this are little details but, put together, those details save me a lot of time. If you can't, then that's ok, but if you can, please try :) Answers must be 79 or less columns: more and I have to fool around with your reply. If possible, paragraphs should begin on column 9: mine always do, and I have to play with your response if you do not follow the standard. Two spaces after a "." When leaving something unsaid, use "..." instead of ".." or "...." Those measures are standard, so as not to give away players or NPCs. I, unfortunately, make errors, especially when copy/pasting. In the course of the game, I will sometimes make deliberate "errors" to keep you guessing. They include simple typos, but can go as far as sending the "wrong" mail to the "wrong" player. Conversations between characters can be held. They are time-consuming but allow for interesting role-play. When conversing, try to anticipate the reply from your opposite: if a reply is answerable only by yes or no, than giving me what you reply in either case speeds the game up. It loses some of your time, but I think it is worth it most of the time. Don't try to think too much in advance, though. When conversing, if you have several unrelated topics, talk of them in parallel. This also speeds things up. Email aboard the ship: all aboard have an account on the ship's net, and can mail to the others. Do not use email too much as it kills some of the role-play. When mailing, write in the following format. In this example, Car sends a mail to Djeban. MESSAGE TO: Djeban Krisvalik MESSAGE FROM: Car Carra Here is a sample of a conversation between two characters. The two characters were chosen semi-randomly. They may or may not be players. This example is not necessarily representative of what is normal. In this case, Xeria is a player, and so is Car. Car approaches Xeria to learn to drive the team's APC. ----Part sent by Car---- When I have the time, I go to see Xeria. I try to find a time when she is close to the armor and working on it. "Heyo lass!" Car greets you, peering over your shoulders into the guts of the engine "Yuck! Grease everywhere." "Say, that slot fer drivin' that beast, it's still open?" "Zee, you have any idea o' where we're goin'?" the fox asks you. ----Part sent to Xeria---- At one point, as you are fiddling with the IFV's engine, grease on your hands, Car approaches you, his usual foxy grin turned on. "Heyo lass!" he greets you, peering over your shoulders into the guts of the engine "Yuck! Grease everywhere." "Say, that slot fer drivin' that beast, it's still open?" "Zee, you have any idea o' where we're goin'?" the fox asks you. Eve- ryone is doing that, it seems. ----Answer from Xeria---- > At one point, as you are fiddling with the IFV's engine, grease on your > hands, Car approaches you, his usual foxy grin turned on. > "Heyo lass!" he greets you, peering over your shoulders into the guts > of the engine "Yuck! What's your driving experience?" I ask, all business. > "Zee, you have any idea o' where we're goin'?" the fox asks you. Eve- > ryone is doing that, it seems. I get closer to him, look around, and say in a whisper "Rellen is your best bet." If he asks how I know that: still with a voice barely above a whisper, I say "It's the stuff we have in the cargo holds. Foodstuff, mostly, but some of the things the files say their industry needs badly. Ball-bearings. That kind of things." A grin "Wanna bet?" I hope he will. ----Part sent to Car---- At one point, as she is fiddling with the IFV's engine, grease every- where on her hands and arms, a spot on her cheek, you approch Xeria, grinning at her. "Heyo lass!" you greet her, peering over her shoulders into the guts of the engine "Yuck! Grease everywhere." She accidentally brushes her tail against your knee when turning around to look up at you with a bright grin. Knowing her, that accidental brush is no accident. "Say, that slot fer drivin' that beast, it's still open?" you ask. "Maybe. What's your driving experience?" she asks, businesslike. "Zee, you have any idea o' where we're goin'?" you ask her. She gets closer to you, looks around, and says, whispering "Rellen is your best bet." ------------- You will note that Car and Xeria have both different ways of writing their part. In this instance, Car speaks at the third person, which allows me to copy/paste with nearly no work. I prefer it, but Xeria's style is quite all right. I think that the example speaks for itself.
